Upper Room Victory Academy utilizes a religious based curriculum which incorporates the basic areas of learning fundamental to early childhood development. The curriculum is designed to build a solid foundation and children are encouraged to explore and learn at their own pace in a relaxed, nurturing atmosphere. We focus on providing children a quality early childhood experience, which is important in developing a positive attitude toward learning and an enthusiasm for education.
The curriculum uses biblical principles to help children understand God the Father and Jesus his Son, through stories, songs, memory verses and prayer. The daily routine is balanced with opportunities for children to engage in exciting activities both inside and outside the classroom. Teachers direct small/large group activities aimed at reinforcing the weekly biblical theme to teach children appropriate social and problem solving skills.
To evaluate our teaching methods, and to identify areas where improvement maybe needed Upper Room Victory Academy completes regular assessments in June and December annually for children in preschool. Assessments a valuable tool because they help us to determine if children are progressing in the essential areas of development and learning used to establish school readiness.
